Adjusting Notifications

A Guide to adjust notifications to your likings.

Reselling Secrets is a very active server, with thousands of people just like you, networking and making money. With that being said, every message sent in the server or any type of activity in the server will more than likely give you a notification on your phone.

Sometimes you really won't want to know what a user ate this morning, and you'll need to know how to make sure you're only getting notified about the good stuff.

This guide here will go ahead and help you completely customize your notifications.

1. Go ahead and open the Reselling Secrets server on your Discord account by hitting the RS icon on your sidebar. Once there you can go ahead and click on the arrow pointing down if you are on the Discord app on your computer (Will be 3 dots if you are on Mobile)

1. Once you click on the 3 dots or the arrow pointing down, you will get a menu to where you will click on "Notification Settings"

1. Once you click on Notification Settings, the first option will be to Mute Reselling Secrets. THIS SHOULD NEVER BE TOGGLED ON. (Picture below)

1. The second option you will see will be the Server Notification Settings. This is usually personal preference, but most users prefer to get the "Only @ mentions" option so anything important will trigger a notification on your phone or computer.

1. Scrolling down a little more you will see more options such as the following

• Suppress @everyone and @here

• Suppress All Role Mentions

• Suppress Highlights

• Mute New Events

• Mobile Push Notifications

The only thing that should be ticked on on all those options would be the "Mobile Push Notifications" to ensure you get all the pings you want on your mobile device.

1. Last but not least, "Channel Overrides". Set Up Custom Alerts. Scroll down in the same window to find "Notification Overrides." This lets you choose different alert settings for specific groups or topics. For example, you can turn off notifications for busy chat channels like #general but keep them on for important ones like #sneakers-important. The changes you make here will be more important than the alert settings you picked in Step 5.

1. This part is all personal preference but we would recommend you to have the following channels overridden (Pictures below).

Make sure that you select what you want to be notified on wether its every single message in the specified channels or just mentions from Reselling Secrets Staff. We highly advise you to have mentions on since anything our staff mention is 100% something worth knowing and going for.
